CCRH Gets ₹214 Crore Boost for Homoeopathy Research
The Government of India has outlined a range of initiatives aimed at strengthening research, scientific development and international cooperation in Homoeopathy through the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) under the Ministry of Ayush.
In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on 11 August 2026, the Ministry of Ayush stated that CCRH is undertaking research across multiple domains, including clinical research, drug proving, drug verification, drug validation, drug standardisation, public health research, fundamental research and epidemic-related studies.
CCRH Expands International Research Partnerships
International collaboration has emerged as an important component of CCRH’s efforts to advance Homoeopathic research and education.
According to the Government, CCRH has entered into 12 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and one Letter of Intent with institutions and organisations across Germany, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Argentina, Israel, Armenia, Mexico and Brazil.
The collaborations are intended to facilitate cooperation in research and education in Homoeopathy, including joint research initiatives, exchange of scientific information and the organisation of academic programmes such as seminars and workshops.
These partnerships provide a framework for greater international engagement in Homoeopathic research and knowledge exchange.
CCRH Funding Rises to ₹214 Crore
The Government has also provided details of financial support extended to CCRH during the past three financial years. The funds released to CCRH were:
- 2023–24: ₹141 crore
- 2024–25: ₹162 crore
- 2025–26: ₹214 crore
During 2025–26, CCRH utilised ₹208.88 crore of the ₹214 crore released to it.
The increased allocation reflects continued government support for research activities and institutional development within the Homoeopathy research sector.
Research and Evidence Generation
The Ministry of Ayush has also highlighted the Ayurgyan Scheme, under which eligible institutions receive financial assistance for research and innovation across AYUSH systems.
During the last three years, 73 research projects received financial assistance amounting to ₹11.82 crore under the Research & Innovation component of the scheme.
The Government stated that its research councils continue to undertake specialised research through their institutes, treatment centres and peripheral units, with the objective of generating scientific evidence and strengthening the research base of AYUSH systems.
Focus on Standardisation and Quality
Alongside clinical and fundamental research, the Government has emphasised the importance of drug quality, standardisation and scientific validation.
The Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy (PCIM&H) has entered into collaborations with academic and research institutions for activities related to quality control, standardisation and evidence-based research involving ASU&H medicines, including Homoeopathic medicines.
Such initiatives are intended to support the development of consistent quality standards and strengthen the scientific framework surrounding Homoeopathic medicines.
International Collaboration as a Key Research Avenue
The Government’s latest disclosure highlights the expanding institutional framework for Homoeopathy research in India, with CCRH combining domestic research programmes with international academic and scientific partnerships.
The network of international agreements, increased research funding and continued emphasis on drug standardisation and evidence generation indicate a broader policy focus on strengthening the research ecosystem supporting Homoeopathy.
