NCH Pushes Research-Based AYUSH Education Reform 2026
In a significant move to strengthen the scientific foundation of traditional medicine, the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) has initiated reforms aimed at transforming AYUSH education into a research-driven system. The latest communication highlights a clear transition from traditional doctrine-based learning to evidence-based and outcome-oriented education in the AYUSH sector.
According to the update, the commission has introduced the Medical Research in Homoeopathy Regulations, 2023, which emphasises integrating research methodologies into academic curricula. This reform is expected to enhance the credibility, global acceptance, and clinical effectiveness of homoeopathic and other AYUSH systems.
The initiative reflects a broader policy shift within the AYUSH framework, focusing on measurable outcomes, scientific validation, and modern research standards. By encouraging academic institutions to adopt research-centric practices, the NCH aims to produce skilled professionals who can contribute to both national and international healthcare systems.
Experts believe that this transformation will bridge the gap between traditional knowledge and modern scientific approaches, thereby improving patient care and expanding opportunities for AYUSH practitioners. The move also aligns with India’s vision of positioning AYUSH systems as globally recognised healthcare solutions.
